Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Pledgr has no account system and no server. Everything works immediately after install, and your data stays on your device and in your private iCloud.
My data isn’t syncing between devices
Sync uses your private iCloud database, so both devices must be signed into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled for Pledgr (iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Saved to iCloud). Give it a minute on Wi‑Fi after logging — CloudKit batches changes. Low iCloud storage can also pause sync.
How do I export my data?
Settings → Export backup file saves your entire dataset as JSON. The Analysis tab also exports any period as CSV — yours to keep, no lock‑in.
How do I restore or delete my data?
Settings → Restore from backup replaces the current data with a backup file. Deleting the app removes local data; iCloud data can be managed in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.
How do budgets work?
Create monthly or annual budgets from Home or More → Budgets, and set a daily target in Settings. Optional budget alerts warn you before you cross the line.
How do scheduled transactions and debts work?
More → Scheduled holds recurring templates with reminders for bills. More → Debts tracks money you lent or borrowed, with due dates and a settled state.
Why is there an ad? Can you see my spending?
A small banner ad keeps Pledgr free. Ads are served by Google AdMob; your financial data never leaves your device or your private iCloud, and it is never shared with advertisers. Details in the Privacy Policy.
